No springs! *whistle*

Can we have these threads on a regular basis? Please?

Well, obviously. I think I and the other MST3k fanatic (Pancho Villeneuve) have been letting our side down by not doing so.

Love the commentary, but I'm highly confused by the whole premise of the video... Were springs so hated back then?
(BTW, as an engineer, I can say there are several different options to metal springs. Nearly everything that quit working in the video could have been designed differently to work correctly without springs.)

I just wish I could have sat in the meetings at the spring council when they green lighted this project and all of the subsequent meetings when the hashed out the plot and dialog.

Was this some sort of educational film for dolts?

Probably a product of the "educational videos on everything" craze, but maybe with incidental money from an industry. Ludicrous premises were kind of the stock in trade.

Most educational films are. This one, just more so than usual.

Hashed out indeed.

Or some kind of propaganda to crush the spring haters or just sell more springs.
